This week in Sunday school we will be hearing the Creation Story! Leah will be our first storyteller. She will be sharing the story of creation with us! This story can be found in the Book of Genesis 1:1-2.4 This is a great story and the children always love it!

This week in Godly Play we are going to be learning about the Holy Family. As we interact with the children and talk to them about the Holy Family we will discuss the importance of each piece in the Nativity right down to
the
“cow that was surprised to find a baby in the feed box where he usually found his breakfast.”
We also talk about how the underlay cloth is an important symbol for the church during Christmas time. Children will receive a bookmark with the Bible reference to the story so as a family you can go back and reread it together. The prophet Isaiah spoke about “The Future King”- Isaiah 9. 2-7. Later on Matthew and Luke both tell the story of the birth of Jesus Christ

Godly Play@Christ Episcopal Church 2nd-3rd Grade
Welcome to the 2015-16 Sunday School Year! We are changing a few things in our Sunday school classroom this year. Children will have the opportunity to tell the stories themselves, work in Bible Notebooks, and have outreach opportunities. Our first official day of Sunday school is August 9th! There will be lots of activities for students to do and they’ll get to meet their teachers and classmates. Later that day, we will have a pool party at the Pucketts’ house from 3-6pm.
In the 2nd-3rd grade classes, we will try to post things weekly as well as implement Remind101 texts for those that would like to receive them and a weekly email about upcoming events in the Children’s Ministry. Here is a schedule of stories this year and Children’s Church activities.
